Why is it important for a business to have a Secret Sauce

Part 3 Coaching to uncover your secret sauce

What’s your Secret Sauce

What’s your money shot? Your deliverable that makes dealing with you a no-brainer for customers and clients? Your secret sauce?

Secret sauce for a chef is what makes his meal unique and the best. It’s their very own product, unique service or know-how that will keep someone coming back to his or her restaurant, or a meal – it’s flavour and character. Who in your area has the best pizza base? What is your favourite beer? Who has the best formula for service?

So what’s the secret sauce that keeps people coming back to you, and your business? Do you know?

When you discover your very own secret sauce, protect it. It will give you a platform upon which growth and improvement is achievable. Because it’s that secret sauce that keeps customers coming.  That will make you an inspiration to others.

Oprah Winfrey, for example, was not born as an international role model. As a kid her difficult life experiences taught her to dream, and to hang onto the dreams through hard times. She learnt the power of media and used that to empower and inspire millions. What’s her secret sauce?

Elon Musk doesn’t simply accept that something needs to be done first by other people before he has a crack at it. He is a pioneer – and his vision lives through his innovative philosophies. So is that his secret sauce? What sets him apart?

The common factor among all inspirational people is that they have uncovered their own secret sauce. What they do better than anyone else. They live by it as a code. And they don’t stop learning. They continue their own journey to realise who they are and what makes themselves tick. They have clarity, purpose and vision – based on their own value proposition, understanding of themselves and the delivery of their secret sauce to the world.

There are many inspirational people whose discovery and belief in their own secret sauce has made them an inspiration to you. And, whilst in many cases it’s made them financially wealthy, it’s personal. Their true wealth comes not from the money in their bank account but the assets of their self-worth. That’s why they inspire others. And what inspiration means to you may be different to someone else. And your source of inspiration may not be famous. You can seek inspiration from anyone, or anywhere. Anyone who has found their own secret sauce.

So whatever you do, own it, live it, focus on it and do it better than anyone else. And inspire others to realise their own secret sauce.
